Objective

Washington's Scenic and Recreational Highway System is based on information collected through an original "visual quality assessment", or corridor review, conducted in 1962. Similar assessments or reviews were conducted at least three more times before 1990. These assessments gathered and complied a lot of important information about portions of the Scenic and Recreational Highway System. However, new data and new technology exists today that should be evaluated to confirm the original assessments and to strengthen the foundation of the Scenic and Recreational Highway System.
